Busy Lamp Fields are used as indicators to show the status of a person's phone line. The BLF will only display for people within your organization and does not apply to external lines.

Polycom VVX

The BLF will appear as colored circles on the phone's display and expansion module. They will appear next to the name, number, or extension of the person's line you ware watching. 


Digium D80

On these phones, the BLF will appear as colored boxes that highlight each user that appear when you select your Favorites or Contacts. The D80 also displays ringing status (flashing red) and on-hold status (flashing yellow). Thanks to a feature called Presence, you can also see the status of the person, such as "Away", "Prefer Chat", and "Extended Away."


Note: Once you press the Favorites icon, your Favorites list can remain as the main open application on your phone screen. You can use this to show the status of lines and to dial them.

Polycom VVX

The BLF will appear as an icon depicting a user or phone on your phone and expansion module. A registered line will show as a phone icon, while a monitored line within the business group will show up as a user icon. Monitored line icons will update in real time as they are in use.
